The Blueprint For Destroying Idaho

How best to destroy Idaho? Burn it down. Shut down all industry, sabotage the economy, drive people out, propagate wolves, and set the whole state afire in a regional firestorm of Biblical proportions.

That’s the plan of Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, who allegedly has the support of Idaho’s entire congressional delegation.

Central Idaho wilderness bill rises again

BY LAUREN FRENCH, Idaho Statesman, 06/14/10 [here]

WASHINGTON - After nearly a decade of labor and compromise, sweeping legislation that protects hundreds of thousands of acres as wilderness in Idaho’s Boulder-White Cloud mountains is headed for a Senate hearing this week.

The Central Idaho Economic Development and Recreation Act goes back to Congress on Wednesday, but this time with what some say is a significantly greater chance than in years past. For the first time, the bill’s champion, Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, has the support of Idaho’s entire congressional delegation.

“Basically, he is looking forward to this being the year it gets done,” said Simpson’s chief of staff, Lindsay Slater. … [more]

Mike Simpson is pandering to the Holocauster Left, and maybe that’s the best strategy for getting re-elected. But burning down Idaho is not in the best interest of most Idahoans.

Simpson is evidently unaware of the enormous fire hazard that hangs over Idaho. He is clueless about the threat of another regional firestorm similar to the Great Fires of 1910 [here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here].

Simpson is evidently unaware of the catastrophic megafire that seared Central Idaho in 2007 [here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here].

Simpson is evidently unaware of the on-going post-fire destruction of watersheds, streams, and fish habitat, a direct result of those fires [here], or of the on-going efforts by the USFS to drive Idaho residents out of their homes and off their private property [here]. He is apparently ignorant of the fact that the USFS has deliberately burned over 60 private cabins and historical structures in Idaho, and torn out or gated private and public roads, cutting off entire communities such as Yellow Pine from access.

Simpson is evidently ignorant that wolf populations have exploded after Federal introduction into Idaho “wilderness,” and they have devastated wildlife and livestock in the worst wildlife disaster since the destruction of bison herds over 100 years ago [here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, etc.].

Or perhaps Mike Simpson is not ignorant, negligent, or naive about those things. Perhaps Mike Simpson doesn’t care. Perhaps Mike Simpson wants to destroy Idaho deliberately, maliciously, and with criminal intent.

If so, he couldn’t have come up with a better blueprint for the catastrophic annihilation of Idaho than one he is touting today.

This is proof why the name “Simpson” is associated with the word “DOH!!!”

As a slap to the face of public oppinion and against the best actions for an economic recovery, Mike Simpson and other economically-uneducated people are building monuments to themselves at the cost of much hardship imposed on local economies and possibly the entire United States. This is not an exaggeration, as I will explain that statement in following paragraphs.

We already have the largest wilderness in the lower 48 states. Adding all that in the late 1970s brought Idaho nearly to the brink of economic disaster. It forced thousands of people out of their homes which had been in the family for generations. The USFS anxiously scurried in to burn down thousands of those historical places in an effort to make our wilderness “pristine.” Idaho’s economy, especially near the wilderness has been stifled every since.

Mike Simpson and others will not stop until the entire nation is locked up by wilderness bills. They won’t be happy until we are forced to illegally migrate into Mexico, Canada and other foreign countries. At that point we’d all be poor migrant workers looking for jobs picking their potatoes and corn for them! We’d have no other timber or mining goods to exchange for food from them, so our cheap labor would become our only export!

All of our national rivals such as Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Brazil support the Idaho wilderness bills. They know it makes us a weaker player on the national playing field. If you think I’m joking, there are currently no mines in the USA for Cobalt, Neodium, Halfnium, Thorium. The only refinery in the world for these rare earths exists in China.

Our military F-35 fighter jets, commercial aircraft, cellphones, laptops and many strategic equipment will not function without those elements. Thus, at any time China decides to ween the US from the elements, they can cripple our most advanced self-defense weapons with the stroke of a pen.

I mentioned the last two paragraphs not to scare people, but in the hopes that we can create jobs and facilites right here in Idaho for supplying our minerals critical to the defense and prosperity of our nation.

The world’s largest known reserves for these elements has just been discovered near Challis. A proposal has been written to allow recovery of these elements. Until processing facilities can be built, they will be barged in their raw form to China for processing. Currently no other facilities exist in the world to process them. The computer you are reading this on right now has many of the same rare earth elements, present in Idaho but currently only mined and refined in China!

I will not name the company to protect it from environmentalists who would willingly oppose the project and intentionally set out to make our nation weaker on the world stage. However a simple internet search for “rare earths” and “largest discovery of them” will show how dependent our society has become.

I agree totally that mining companies need to mind their “P”s and “Q”s while extracting materials, especially in sensitive areas. With reasonable oversight we can have jobs which typically pay Idaho workers $50-75,000 on average, without a highschool education. In Nevada, the typical miner makes $60-125,000 per year without any formal education. Right now many of our skilled miners have been exported to Nevada because those are the only jobs available.

$6-8 per hour cleaning motel rooms near those same areas doesn’t begin to compare. Especially when most of the tourist staying at them will be Chinese government prospectors looking to extract the same minerals in exchange for paying our $14 trillion national debt we owe them.
