100% containment. Change in acreage is due to more accurate mapping on several fires in the Complex. Acreage by jurisdiction: FS (with FS protection) 57, FS (with IDL protection) 274, Private 1130, and State 212. Prepare for transition to a Type 3 Team at 0630 on 09/04/2010.

Change in acreage is due to more accurate mapping on several fires in the Complex. Cost increase reflects more detailed accounting of initial actions and all resources on scene. Schafer Butte Campground and Harris Creek Road have been reopened. A road closure remains in effect for NFS Road 374 (Ridge). Coulter Fire has split jurisdiction- 45 acres are IDL protection, 57 acres are FS protection.

Weather conditions have continued to assist operations and several more fires were contained. The Management Action Points for low probability/ high consequence events are being developed.

Road closures remain in effect on National Forest System roads 374 (Ridge), 297, and the Forest Service portion of 307 (Harris Creek). Shafer Butte campground remains closed. The incident is providing initial attack on new fires within ID-SWS fire protection area. Wilderness Ranch was added to the Complex today and is 100% contained.

Weather conditions assisted the crews in containing several fires.

Road closures within the area includes National Forest Service road (NFS) 374 (Ridge) roads, NFS 297 and NFS 307 (Harris Creek) road. Shafer Butte campground remains closed. Mann fire was previously the 805 fire. The incident is providing initial attack on new fires within ID-SWS fire protection area.

The partly cloudy and cooler weather suppressed fire behavior. Some creeping, smoldering and smokes were observed.

Reopened the FS307 Road this afternoon. Utilized tankers to assist in slowing the active and running parts of the fire. Able to establish personnel on the line.

Idaho Department of Lands. Timber. Active Fire Behavior. Continue to establish control lines. Utilized aerial resources.

Cottonwood Fire

Specific Location: S. Fork Harris Creek, 1 mi W of Boise NF, Lat 43° 48´ 58″ Lon 116° 7´ 37″

Cause: Lightning

Using heavy air tankers to help slow the progress of the fire. Two IHC assigned to the fire.

Idaho Department of Lands. Timber. Active fire behavior. Gusty and erratic winds with limited resources hampering control efforts. Type 2 Team on order.
