The Kamehameha V Highway, closed briefly due to smoke, has been re-opened.
Maui Fire Department is in command of the fire with DOFAW as support. State DOT, County Public Works, and private entities are also in support of the suppression effort. Request has been made to enlist the local NPS resources to assist.
