The Deerlodge NF has determined that it is of great benefit to burn the public forest they have been employed to protect on purpose with no preparation in the middle of summer. No Environmental Impact Statement has been completed, or even begun, and no public involvement or public hearings have been held in support of this unilateral bureaucratic decision.

IMT developing long term fire management plan. This fire is going to be a Let It Burn fire. Expect major blowup when wind events occur in mid to late August.
