Rehberg Doubts Wolf Settlement Will Solve the Problem

by Rep. Denny Rehberg (MT), 03/18/11 [here]

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement in response to a short-term incomplete settlement hatched by the Department of Interior and a few environmental obstructionist groups.

Here we go again. Fool us once, shame on you – fool us twice shame on us. But I’m not going to sit around and wait for them to fool us a third time with another lawsuit that once again removes Montana’s right to manage our own wildlife. My bill will fix this mess once and for all, which is why it has broad bipartisan support from around the country. Wolf management needs to be left to the states.

The phony “Deal” being pushed through Molloy’s court is a “trick designed to derail the state and federal political process and that the tricksters can’t enter into a binding covenant not to sue because 4 plaintiffs dropped out.”

At a recent hearing in Helena I spoke as a proponent for SB 414 drafted by my dear friends and long time Wolf Control Warriors, Gary Marbut of Montana Shooting Sports and Montana Senator Joe Balyeat. I then gave each Senator on the committee a copy of “Yellowstone is Dead” and asked them, once they have finished viewing the documentary to give their copy to Governor Schweitzer, the Attorney General, Mike Phillips and the members of the House and Senate F&G Committee.

Upon the completion of my testimony I got a call from long time Wolf Control Warrior Jack Oyler, State Vice Chair, Sportsmen For Fish & Wildlife who had just watched “Yellowstone is Dead” and he will also be using the documentary as an aid in his high level dealings over in Idaho .

Order your copy of “Yellowstone is Dead

Yellowstone is Dead is a film every American needs to see. It does an excellent job of educating people on the reality of what has and is going on with the entire wolf introduction saga. Bob, hats off to you, you were great in this film. Mike, thanks for all you do.
