This month of July 2010, our U.S. Federal courts have found the so-called State of Arizona hate-filled legislation, namely House Bill 2013 and Senate Bill 1070 un-constitution (so much for the intellect of Jan Brewer, “Did you read the bills you signed?”). But we all know that they will go crying to the Supreme Court of the United States. Please, please, please go. We will fight you in Arizona, any other state, and yes in Washington DC. We will not tire, we will not be silent and we will persevere, I promise you.

In my opinion the Republican Party has been taken over the most extreme of clans; the Baggers, Birthers and Blowhards (people who love to push their beliefs and hate on others while trying to take away the rights of those they just hate) and that’s who they need to extract from their party if they real want to win in November. Good Luck, because as they said in Waco, “We ain’t coming out.”

It’s all about politics: Jan Brewer you were never elected to be Governor, but you have no problem trying to get elected on the back of undocumented workers, you loser (sure you may win but the long-term effects to your so called State is just beginning). That means that it explains 88% of the measured temperatures for 114 years and counting. The best that GCMs have done is significantly less than this. The equation predicts that the trend of average global temperatures will be down. The above link and sub links, including links to the temperature data reported by the five reporting agencies, track the data back to the published credible sources.

As the atmospheric CO2 continues to increase and the average global temperature does not, perhaps the comments of ill-informed people will subside.

Reply: There was no global flood, but a series of regional floods before the Younger Dryas (but after the Older Dryas). The Dryases were glacial stadials, i.e. cold periods. A warm period between them, from ~15,000 to 13,500 BP, was when much of the continental ice sheets melted.

There was no single catastrophic flood. The Bretz floods that drained Glacial Lake Missoula occurred as many as 50 times over a period of 1,500 years. That factoid tends to disprove the single comet impact theory.

Nor were the floods everywhere. Plenty of now-extinct megafauna lived where there were no floods. So floods, warming, etc. are not satisfactory explanations for the extinctions. Human hunting most probably played a significant role.
